After some deliberation, I’ve elected to discontinue my X Space series. The Best Of marathon (spotlighting the very best episodes of the very best sci-fi shows as chosen by fans) was a lot of fun, mostly owing to the contributions of my wonderful hosts, but in the end they didn’t engender as much interest as I had hoped, either with live or delayed listeners. And so, all things being equal, I do find it MUCH easier to do a write-up on an episode rather than prepare an hour-long discussion so I’m shelving the planed Time Loopalooza and Redemption Rewatch in favor of a resumption of our Columbo rewatch. We’ll return from hiatus starting this Friday, August 8th with the season 8 opener “Columbo Goes to the Guillotine”.
The schedule:
Friday, August 8th: Columbo Goes to the Guillotine
Monday, August 11th: Murder, Smoke and Shadows
Friday, August 15th: Sex and the Married Detective
Monday, August 18th: Grand Deceptions
Whos’ in?!
Not loving the new rule changes for the 2025 NFL season!
Meanwhile, a recent NY Times op-ed proposed redefining death in order to increase donor organs. This upset a lot of people, but I feel the authors’ words have been misconstrued. As proposed, organs will only be harvested under these very specific circumstances:

Much as I’d love to watc the Space chats, I’m not going back to Xitter,
Well ok. I enjoyed your Best Of talks even though I had not seen 98% of the episodes you were talking about. You geeks were still fun to listen to. Lol. Hope to be watching Season 8 of Columbo right along with you. Looking forward to that.
I’ll have to browse apps and see if I can find Columbo season 8. Amazon stops at 7. Count me in as “tentative”. Even Amazon’s complete series on DVD stops at 7.
Interesting news items…. I’m not sure whether to laugh or cringe. It’s the same with some of the things going on with the WNBA. 😬 Why would they let a basketball player wear a wig during a game?
I posted a reply the other day on the wrong post. I was mainly wanting to know if you’ve read any books by Thomas Perry? I stumbled across his books when Audible offered “The Burglar” on a daily deal. I was pleasantly surprised and now Perry has become one of my go to authors for driving trips. The narrators for his books are good, too. Perry’s “Pursuit” made my mom trip fly by.
Have a great Sunday and if you’re still in Montreal, please say Hi to your family from us! 👋🏻
Loved The Bomb Maker
While I really enjoyed the Twilight Zone rewatch and doing the Columbo rewatch, I was glad to have the break for Sci-fi shows.
I have been watching Columbo on Tubi, and started out with 2-3 commercials at a time.
By the end it grew to 7, even when I watched a few Farscape episodes.
On the longer Columbo episodes it felt like watching a 2 hour movie.
Being retired, while I enjoyed them, I may not be able to commit 4 hours a week for more Columbo this soon.
Thank you for what you do
If you find write ups easier than hour long discussions, why not just do write ups of the time loopalooza episodes?
