I’m thinking of getting back into the matinee swing of things.  There’s nothing I like more than taking in a midday movie in an almost empty theater.  Hard to believe it’s been over two years since the last time.  I want to go back but… is there anything worth seeing?  Do tell.

Today’s Yes/No….

Tam Dixon was somewhat prescient with this comment: “I used a rowing machine once. I must have used it wrong because I could barely move the next day.”  I practically had to crawl out of bed this morning after last night’s rowing machine workout.  And then, of course, because of a small fire in the building, I had to carry Suji up and down eight flights for her afternoon walk.  On the bright side, the lower back pain distracts me from my frozen shoulder.

I completed my pre-polish pass on the pilot of Fronted, my SF/Kpop mash-up.   I’ll go over it once more tomorrow, then deliver it Monday after which I will switch gears and do a pass on the Promise of Blood (Powder Mage) pilot.  Then, as I await word on the other projects in play, I’m thinking of actually starting work on a feature I’ve had rattling around in my head for the better part of a year.  I’ve already done a scene breakdown.  Now, all I need to do is write it.  Smooooooooth sailing, right?

So, what does your Sunday look like?

  1. My Sunday will look about the same as this Saturday: having fun with friends at a scifi convention (you remember: the one with the huge whisky selection). However, this time I won’t just be taking a photo with Jewel Staite, but with all the Atlantis cast members present. So it’s going to be a better than average great Sunday, I think.

I hope you also have a nice Sunday, your back pain will quickly subside, and good luck for your projects.

  2. Matinees are great but I find nothing beats a Sunday late show for a near empty theatre. I don’t get a lot of Mondays off, but more than enough for the number of movies I generally want to pay to see on the big screen.

I’m considering Dune but I’ve read the book so I anticipate being disappointed. I really believe that TV is a better medium for adapting novels and movie makers should stick to short stories if they need source material.

  3. Made my 1st trip to a movie theater in a couple years to see Dune. Well worth it.

  4. Proof reading a novel for a friend. Who is proofreading one of mine in return. Won’t be able to get it done today, but I’ll get a nice start.

  5. Spent my Sunday watching a Bollywood movie – My Name is Khan. It was excellent, and I highly recommend.

I’m sorry to hear about your pain. It is hopefully short-lived. I have chronic pain and it’s awful.

It’s fun learning about your different projects. Thanks for sharing bits of your life with us.
