Yes!  The amazing Yael Tygiel will be moderating the Stargate Atlantis 15th Anniversary panel at this year’s San Diego Comicon – Thursday, July 18th.  It’s going to a blast as we have some fun surprise in store.

And before you ask – NO, there will be no announcement of a fourth Stargate series.

But don’t lose faith.  As I’ve been saying for a while now, MGM has an incredibly valuable franchise and it’s not a matter of IF they make a new series, but WHEN. Hopefully, it’ll be sooner than later.  And, of course, we’ll remain respectful and patient in the knowledge that, when it does, it will be a great jumping on point for new viewers while, at the same time, rewarding longtime fans by honoring what has come before.  A true in-canon fourth series.

If not, we RIOT.

BUT for now, let’s just concentrate on celebrating SGA’s 15th anniversary.  Mark the date!

Meanwhile – tonight is the Utopia Falls wrap party.  I’m sure that the crew will be well-rested and up for some late night fun after yesterday’s third consecutive night shoot that probably saw most of them getting home to bed for about 8:00 a.m. this morning.

Found these oversized habanero and scotch bonnet peppers yesterday.  I intended to oven dry and then grind them to a fine powder but they smelled so good that, halfway through the process, I elected to eat them as is with a couple of slices of raisin-walnut bread and some Chateau de Bourgogne cheese.

Oh, finally got around to watching Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse after hearing SOOOOOOO much about it.

The verdict?

Best Spider-Man movie ever.

  1. Again, I sure wish I could make it to SDCC for that session. I’m sure it will be a blast.

I certainly hope that any new SG series stays in-canon, but just in case I”m getting my torch and pitchfork ready.

Have fun at the wrap party!

  2. I re-watch very few movies but I re-watched Into the Spiderverse a few times, excellent movie.

  3. It’s actually unfair to all other Spider-Man movies to compare them to Into the Spider-Verse; they don’t stand a chance!

  4. Thanks for keeping us updated. I really, really hope any new series not only stays in canon, but also is a continuation of Atlantis especially.

  5. “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse … Best Spider-Man movie ever.”

Have you seen Spider-Man: Far from Home yet?

I had felt the same way until seeing the latest… Now, I can’t decide… maybe a tie?

    1. Yes. I saw Spider-Man: Far from Home. And, to be honest, even though I saw it before Spider-Verse, It wasn’t even then my favorite Spider-Man movie.

  6. Great news on the Atlantis panel! I wish I could attend.

I congratulate you on your seemingly dead heat receptors. I recently ate a habanero as a party trick for the first time in a long time. It was…hot. ☺

  7. Okay, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is on my “must see” list. Thanks!

How are you feeling after eating those peppers? 😉 I broke on out in a sweat just looking at them.

Speaking of sweat, I’m spending the day at Dr Jo’s house. Virginia having a new HVAC system installed. She’s being incredibly generous. Dr Jo’s sister is a class act!

The mold mediation people haven’t gotten back to us about the damage from the AC leak in the attic. Wish us luck on that report! Virginia is checking with the home insurance policy to see if they cover that damage.

    Have a great day! TGIF!

  8. Hmmm… can’t figure out how to reply to your comment, Joe. Pressing the “Reply” button does nothing for me on Windows 10 using the Chrome browser. Something for your web designer to figure out maybe?

Anyway, the reason I liked Spider-Man: Far from Home so much is that Tom Holland is the best Spider-Man, by far. And, Zendaya is the best MJ, by far. They are believable as high schoolers (unlike the other actors in the roles) and they have perfect chemistry especially when you factor in the awkwardness of being in high school. Plus, I’m really looking forward to the next installment due to the long mid-credit scene! JK Simmons is awesome. But, I’m bummed to think that PP & MJ’s romance may be short lived because of the big reveal.

Now, looking at Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse… they had it all. Perfect characters, perfect chemistry, and I loved the animation style. This was much more like reading a comic book than any of the other Spider-Man movies. I also loved the humor, like the B&W Spider-Man can’t see in color, etc. But, I can’t imagine they’re going to do a sequel to this one… what would they do? Maybe they’ll surprise me. Who knows?

Anyway, after reexamining my thoughts on both films, I must agree with you that Spiderverse was the better film.
