I first came across Andy W. Clift’s work while perusing Comixology’s new release section, taking notice of the lovely retro cover for the first issue of his Captain Cosmic comic book –
I ordered that first issue, loved its fun sensibility, and followed him on twitter. Recently, I reached out to Andy to find out if he’d be interested in rendering Dark Matter in that same lively style. Well, he was more than happy to oblige and here is an initial sampling of his take on the The Raza and its crew…

More of Andy’s work in the coming days. In the meantime, if you want to check out his creator-owned comic book, The Adventures of Captain Cosmic, you can do see by purchasing it here.
Tomorrow: Answers, answers, answers!
Ideally. But problem more questions.
Oh, and dinner with Dark Matter’s THREE, Anthony Lemke.
🏆Awesome artwork!
That artwork is amazing! If the rest of Dark Matter ever goes to comic form, he needs to be involved!
Say hi to Anthony for me!
Andy captured our guys perfectly. So cool.
I’d read that!
Four with a beard and no tattoos; awesome! I would order a set too, when it becomes available.
Those are excellent!
Really good to see Dark Matter stuff. Miss it dreadfully. Thanks Joe.
Say hiya to Anthony from all of us 😊
fun art.
Dinner with Lemonkey sounds lovely.
(So long as you dont torture him again
with any more of your sisters ghost peppers).
Good luck with your lunch meeting this week. I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you they actually give you a firm date and a signed contract. xo
Andy’s work is excellent! He should make a good comic partner for you. Can’t wait for the answers to come!!!!
Great art! It would be cool to have a regular #DarkMatter comic book (HINT HINT).
Dinner with Lemke! Je suis jalouse. Wow, that is some wicked cool DM art. Can’t wait to see more, and I love the Captain Cosmic cover, I did a double take figuring it was a vintage cover. I like the Archie-esque retro vibe. I am still recovering from a dystopian weekend of The Quiet Place and How It Ends. I couldn’t get The Quiet Place out of my head, so good. I wasn’t happy with how How It Ends ended (it doesn’t actually have an ending) but I love Forrest Whittaker and Grace Dove and it had good action scenes. But it needed way more Whittaker and Dove.
Excellent art!
