Over the past couple of days, I’ve been going through some old blog posts, taking a trip down Stargate memory lane, and sharing some of the BTS pics on twitter. Here are a few of the highlights…
Me, ten years ago, plotting world domination…and Atlantis’s fourth season.
This awesome Asgard fan art adorned the production office.
Wraith trivia. Todd’s distinct facial tattoo was a tribute to Kiss lead guitarist Ace Frehley who was purportedly a fan of the show.
Hey! Hey YOU!
Carl Binder is awesome, but even awesome are the misdirect titles I put up on the board for the back half of the season.
I honestly think he was creepier than the alien he was standing in for.
Elyse Levesque and Brian J. Smith.
Prepping Radek’s space walk with David Nykl.

Today, I continued work on that SF pilot script. On the one hand, I’m at the top of page 53! On the other hand, I’m just starting Act 5. Going to need to give this draft a good edit before delivery.
Also today, I pitched by take on that Korean drama series as well as the anime series. Apparently, it’s very early in the process, so I shouldn’t expect a response for a month or two. I DID feel very good about the pitches though. Of course, as I told my manager today, I also felt very good about the Saints’ chances against the Minnesota Vikings.
Back in the day the Wraith were evil fun. I hated them. I thought Das was nuts. But I’d give anything to see them and the Atlantis crew again.
Reminder:
Lunch tomorrow with Cowboy Bruce McDonald and Robbie David. TAKE PICTURES. (please)
And yes, Carl Binder is awesome.
I love that first picture. You look so casually malevolent.
Man, I miss Stargate a lot – but I did see that they released a new trailer today for SG:Origins.
Carl is indeed awesome!
Thanks for such wonderful memories, Joe.
You looked so sexy in your suit back then
holding an adorable stuffed animal. xo
By the way: Did Vanessa happen to mention when
the anthology project might be released from its holding pattern?
Or has it already run out of gas, crashed and burned,
in a nameless, placeless, wild strawberry field,
just short of the landing strip, in some puff the magic dragon
dimension somewhere or another by a sea??
@Tam Whiskey Apple pie definitely sounds delightful.
At the moment the recipe for my latest most exquisite chocolate chip and cherry masterpiece remains highly classified, by way of executive orders from CDC, FDA, USDA, NSA, Homeland Security, CIA and Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D,
as it currently being utilized as a secret weapon in the fight against would be evil doers. Apparently no one can resist feeling warm, loved, and otherwise blissfully enslaved after inhaling the aroma of or consuming these cookies.
Thus, I can neither confirm nor deny the use of dark chocolate chunks from Belgium, A secret recipe natural cherry paste woven into the blonde bombshell cookie dough, Or the wee nip or two of berry brandy I might have snuck into the liquid requirements along with a water diluted natural cherry juice.
However, I can tell ya I am going to be experimenting with the use oranges,
almond slivers, cocoa powder and Disorano woven into cookie dough
in my next inspired insomniacs kitchen lab session. (And yes, I will indeed be making use of small bits of the orange rind, as well). 😀
Wonderful. Doesn’t everyone need anonymous spooky mannequins in their life?
I always knew the whole thing was just virtual reality! No wonder the Wraith are rock stars. Vegas Wraith, Todd, Michael are just so darn cool. I’m cheering on that K drama. Has it been 10 years since Universe?
can someone please tell me what the SF script he is talking about
Shhhhhh…. it’s a secret only Joe knows…. Stay tuned. He will eventually tell all. 😆
Great photo of you… handsome.
I had a thought… wouldn’t it be good to have a new sci-fi network, with just sci-fi shows? I would call it Galaxy & I would bring back Dark Matter.
Cheers, Chev
Plotting world domination…..very James-Bond-villain-like!
Really, you haven’t aged a day. Pretty impressive! I love a stroll down memory lane. Now that Once Upon a Time is not going to be renewed, Robert Carlyle is now available and since you are hanging with the SG/MGM crowd for their on-line effort, wouldn’t it be great if you could get some kind of conclusion to the SGU series? If not, at least that was a pretty decent ending with us feeling like the crew is just asleep and may be awakened some day. With Dark Matter, it was ended (hate you Syfy) with an alien invasion. Of course we know the good guys would prevail, but seriously?????? That has to be among the top WTF endings right up there with that ending for Farscape before they got a miniseries to wrap up the storyline. Again, another crappy move by then SciFi channel.
