   Ok, I’ll bite. Normally I can pass over an author or actor’s political beliefs, but for a certain actor, who’s affiliated with Kids Need To Read and Castle, I drew the line. Hollywood/TVNetworks have been subsidized for decades, and a recent presidential candidate(including the former) had fundraisers in Hollywood/Los Angeles. Gee…more like quid pro quo. This actor was in a celebrity video begging people to vote for ______. I’m currently boycotting certain US studios who are filming their shows in Canada.

   Hmmm…Banh Mi Boys…great place! But I’ve yet to try Yasu Sushi. Next time, next time.

   On the conversation yesterday (about separating an artist from their work), for me I suppose it depends on how personal their offensive behavior is. If it hits close to home or the behavior is very egregious (i.e. bordline illegal or immoral) then it’s likely I’ll avoid them. But if they’re just jerks (but not necessarily a jerk to me), I can usually put it aside if I like their work.

    Probably worth noting that if you don’t have a Nielsen box, nothing you watch on any network will be tracked, ever.

    Are you sure about that…?? Maybe not yet. They track everything you buy (unless you use cash). They can track where you are with your phone. They can track your car and how fast you are driving. Don’t you think the satellite companies can track what you are watching? After all, we have “smart” TVs now. I’ve read some TV brands can listen to what is going on in your house, Joe can you hear me?

    It was a giant sushiroll with crab meat, avocado, cucumber and on the right, fried sweet potatoe stribes. All covered in some weird flakes.
    It. Was. Horrible!
    That’s what I get for venturing outside of your list of restaurants. Alright! I’ll never do that again. Sorry!

    But… about that seabass… are there leftovers?

    Interesting question. Don’t usually get to meet the creators of your favourite works so don’t have too many examples.

    However I did get to meet Stephen Donaldson and he was a really nice guy, friendly, and attentive even though it was well known he did hate doing meet and greet tours.

    I met Page Hamilton from the band Helmet on a tour and thanked him for his music, he shot back instantly with a “No, thank you for buying and listening and making it possible” another great guy.

    I do try to let the work (whatever it may be) speak for itself and generally haven’t found too many objectionable types when I have felt the urge to delve deeper into what they are like.

    Did you see that Bill Paxton died? This kind of links back to the question you asked yesterday. I saw Bill on “Who do you think you are?”. Bill was pure class and took the bad news of having an ancestor that was a former slave owner with grace. As opposed to Ben Affleck on “Finding Your Roots” who wanted that part of his history deleted from the show.
