Another awesome – and exhausting – day on set. We were in the ship’s underbelly, the corridors, and personal quarters as our crew dealt with the aftermath of some surprising events and shocking revelations. Questions, questions and answers – which only beget more questions!

Dance moves aside, this guy is putting me to shame with his ridiculous exercise and diet regimen, waking up at 3:30 a.m. so that he can squeeze in a workout (try 30 minutes of air squats!). And then, this afternoon, I received the following pic from fellow training enthusiast Vanessa Piazza, giving me a heads up on what they do on their lunch break:
And what, pray tell, was I doing on MY lunch break while they were planking? Jogging? Rowing? Hitting the elliptical? No, I was actually hitting this –
The Burger’s Priest bacon double cheeseburger fully loaded with HP (High Priest) sauce and fried jalapeños, fries, a vanilla-chocolate (aka The Riggs and Murtaugh, Lethal Weapon fans), and a couple of home made chocolate chip cookies. I’d been hearing a lot about this place – as recently as this afternoon from assistant production manager Robbie David who went on in such delicious detail that I finally said “Screw the catering!” and arranged a road trip to the nearest Burger’s Priest just a five minute drive from production offices. The verdict? Probably the best burger I’ve had in recent memory.
The gang prepares to dig in. Lawren, who had yet to receive his order, couldn’t wait. Apparently, even the napkins are delicious!
We returned to the offices to discover a wine and cheese party in progress, a going-away get-together for the fabulous Lost Girl accounting team. They will be missed! As will my appetite after I followed up lunch with some triple cream brie.
At one point, resident media guru Natalie Cooper sprawled out on the couch and I made an executive decision (I am an Executive Producer after all) to steal her boots and throw them in the snow. Well, we succeeded in removing her boot – only to discover THIS! I’m not sure what shocked me more: the sight of those purple unicorn socks, or the fact that I was secretly wearing a matching pair.
Hey, speaking of “wearing”, do you know what today is? Yeah, neither did I. Apparently, it’s Cat t-shirt (aka Pussy t-shirt) Thursday. Silly me. I thought it was Octopus Cufflinks Thursday and made a complete fool of myself. But others came prepared:

So, are we gonna get Dancing With the Stars, Dark Matter Edition, on a regular basis? If so, I’m in the mood for something…of a period piece nature. Perhaps a minuet? Yes, a minuet…with your choice of partners. 🙂

Speaking of minuets, my grandmom performed a minuet on the stage of the Philadelphia (Metropolitan) Opera house back when she was just a girl, c. 1914. I guess it was part of a school exhibition or something, seeing as how my grandmom wasn’t a professional performer. She always talked about it as one of the highlights of her life. 🙂

Definitely not “middle-aged white lady dance”. I’m thinking more Godzilla stomping Tokyo, or maybe Ultraman going downtown (with a sword and gun) to take on the bad guys. And that just goes to show you can always take an analogy just that bit too far.
And I’ll never ever accuse a fit athletic person of dancing like a middle-aged white lady from now onwards, especially when they’re wielding swords and guns! Just so you know… 😉

That burger looked really good! I think I’ll need to add the Burger Priest to my list of restaurants to visit the next time I’m in Toronto. You had me at fried jalapeños!
Lastly on the cat shirts, my history with cats has been problematic (comes from growing up in a small town where all the cats were feral). Can I wear a dog shirt instead?
The screen grab of the day is unusual. I’m trying to decide if you are just pulling our leg with some on set high jinx with the cast jumping in the air, or is the android kicking butt? I’ll vote it’s a butt kickin’.
I think on their Cat T-shirt Thursday, you should counter their cats by wearing a Pug T-shirt. Dog lovers unite! heheheheeee 😈

The Burgers Priest looks wonderful…I saw it featured on an episode of “You Gotta Eat Here” which is shown on UK TV…sadly I missed the opportunity to eat there during last year’s summer visit…perhaps this year if I go?…

It was a combination of late night posting (i.e. minimal proof reading) and my tablet’s auto-correct function. Apparently it doesn’t consider Mallari a proper name! Arggh.
Interestingly, now that I’ve corrected it, when I type Mallozzi I get Mallari! I wish it had a rule that says if the word starts with a capital, don’t auto-correct it, as it’s probably a proper name. Seems simple and it aggravates me when technology fails in this way…just not enough user testing.

I’m so excited about the police finding the Canadian yorkie that was stolen in Memphis. 🙂 Plus, the pup was taken to one of the animal hospitals I used to work at to scan the microchip. I really hope they charge more people for this dognapping! The dog looks healthy and well cared for. When she was stolen you could see the jerk pick her up by the neck and sling her in his car. I was so worried she would be used as pit bull bait or something. Mmmmm. I just recently bought my first bottle of HP Sauce. I’ve used it for a few different creations of my own, but also brought it with me to my favorite burger joint a couple weeks ago and it worked quite well.
I have been in the midst of a culinary anglophile phase and have purchased some England-Only type snack foods from Amazon. Some recent notable selections have been:

Walkers Crisps: Some surprises. My favorite turned out to be the Prawn Cocktail. I could do without the Roast Chicken, though. But, the other flavors were actually quite pleasant.
I was able to find a “British food section” at a local small supermarket that used to be owned by Tesco(a large British grocer) that has a few odd things as well, albeit they are staples of the English menu. The baked beans sound fun, but I’m not 100% sold on the Spotted Dick.
Since a lot of the girls here continue to gush and fawn over Alex and the boys on the show/crew, in order to balance things out I’ll continue to share in my opinion of Ms. Piazza: Yum! What a cutie!

If spotted dick is not appealing, how about sticky toffee pudding? I suggest trying it with some Bird’s custard.
I also liked some of the white chocolate fruit and nut candy bar combinations. They were a lot more adventurous that what you’d generally find in the US.
@Natalie Cooper I totally love those socks. I have adopted a love of colorful socks from my dad. I have three drawers in my dresser devoted to my sock collection. One for ankle/trouser socks, one for fun and festive socks, and one for knee high socks. The knee highs are winning out as of late. My office building likes to pretend to be an artic-circle experiment. Knee highs are my salvation. That and the illegal heater under my desk.

A lot of those people are surprisingly photogenic. And team Lost Girl have a lot to be proud of on multiple levels, they created and supported a successful show that has a worldwide following. And five seasons is a good number for any show.

I have zero cool socks. The husband, however, has an embarrassing pair of Valentine Day socks that Patrick has worn for crazy sock day. If we are throwing dances out there, how about a cast/crew group dance of Thriller?
