This is the feel-good story of 2026 so far…
Sharky is in talks to play the part of the leader corgi, Big Fat, in the big screen adaptation.
Pretty exhausted today. Had a restless night but still managed to offer a pretty animated morning of ideas for today’s writers’ room discussion. But after the Philly cheesesteak lunch, it was lights out. I was noticeably slower, like a boxer who comes out of retirement for one final ill-advised bout. Tomorrow, the writers’ room is bookended by a zoom meeting about one of my sci-fi pilots and a drinks meeting about a show that has been stalled by the addition of one too many producers. Yes, too many producers can actually be a bad thing it turns out.
Concluding with this great little post that came across my timeline regarding my friend, Anthony Lemke (Dark Matter’s THREE):

Insomnia is no fun. Is it stress related? I hope you’re not coming down with something. I’m sure Akemi has some kind of remedy. She takes good care of you.
You’re not flying anytime soon, right? 😬
Sharky has definite leadership qualities but sight might be required to lead the pack home.
A lot going on here. Our bathroom rehab is nearly finished. Lucy is having a bout of pancreatitis so I’m shuffling her to the vet & giving meds. She ate a small breakfast this morning, so that’s good.
Tomorrow, I have minor surgery and my son is watching Lucy. Send positive thoughts he can handle Lucy. She’s a bit of a bitch but the vet sent home some Gabapentin that’s supposed to calm her down/help with pain. I’ll dose her up with all her meds before I leave Wednesday.
My thoughts are rambling today. Sorry.
Have a good day! 👋🏻
I don’t feel particularly stressed. We fly out April 3rd!
Sending positive thoughts to you, Lucy AND your dog-sitter son!
Kinda know the insomnia feeling. It’s going on a week where I’m lucky to get 5 hours sleep and it’s really starting to wear on me. Plus, now I have a crappy cold with sore throat and coughing. I have no time for that!
Didn’t Disney already do a movie a million years ago about pets escaping and making their way home? Incredible Journey, I think?
