What fun pics! LA is so weird… I’ve never been but it seems like another planet, LOL. We are cooooold here in Texas. We ran a local chess tournament all day and barely avoided canceling due to freezing weather. Texans do not exit their homes when it is below freezing 😂
It’s pretty chilly – about -20 this morning, but it warmed up to -15 later in the day. Very sunny though and wind not as much as forecast so kind of just a chilly January day. Quite a bit of snow coming Monday apparently (up to 30cm), but the track appears a bit uncertain so it could vary some either way. Again, January.
Two weeks now until train trip!
Recently learned that “duck shit dancong” is actually a very popular variety of dancong tea in Chaozhou China. Bought some home myself. 🙂

It’s Australia Day on Monday so it’s a long weekend. It’s 25°C here in Tasmania at the moment. Melbourne is forecast to get up to 43°C on Tuesday. RIP.

We still have power but there’s a lot of people in the dark. The bad part missed us but it hit my mom’s part of the TN hard.
In North Central Texas it got up to 18 degrees today. Will get down to 9 degrees in the morning. Big change from the 80 degrees on Christmas Day!

Oh and it’s solid white here. Snow, sleet and ice covering everything. Of course that means nothing is moving. We can’t drive on winter roads here like they do in the northeast.
