Movie #29: Host
At a remote island reform school, Ing faces strict obedience rules and a rigid hierarchy. As strange events occur, she questions if she’s their victim or cause.
My thoughts: An effectively spooky movie marred by inconsistent logic and a hard-to-swallow ending.
My rating: 3.5/5
Movie #30: Grafted
A bright but socially awkward exchange student takes her craving for popularity to horrifying heights.
My thoughts: Like a horror version of Face Off, my most hated John Woo movie.
My rating: 2.5/5
Movie #31: V/H/S: Halloween
A collection of Halloween-themed videotapes unleashes a series of twisted, blood-soaked tales, turning trick-or-treat into a struggle for survival.
My thoughts: As with most anthologies, a mixed bag. The equivalent some okay Mars bars, a not bad Snickers, a rotten apple = but the foreign language entry is the Snickers!
My rating: 3.5/5
