Dinner for me is usually steel cut Irish oatmeal with some protein powder, almond butter, oat milk, and frozen blueberries but, tonight, I decided to go off-book with The Vatican, Burger Priest’s double cheeseburger served between two grilled cheese sandwiches, with grilled onions and jalapeño bottle caps. Tonight, I bet I will sleep like a baby. And by that I mean I’l be up every hour or so, possibly crying.
Hey, if you didn’t tune into yesterday’s Dark Matter Monday stream, you missed a great chat with actress Ayisha Issa (DM’s Solara Shockley). Luckily, PJ pressed record…
Today’s Yes/No…

I’m holding out for the version with actual ball bearings in the mix.

Today’s entry is dedicated to blog regular Drea. Check in and let us know how you’re doing.
I’ve had the ball bearing squirrel. I don’t recommend it. It has hints of lead paint chips but the crunch isn’t the satisfying kind.
I’ll send some prayers up for you, Drea.
The sandwich looks decadent and delicious.
Making tacos for everyone before work tonight. Second Covid shot is tomorrow and I’m a bit nervous, not knowing what to expect. Nonetheless, I feel grateful to have the appointment. Hope all is well in Toronto… it as well as to be expected 👍
You can’t sleep if you have high caloric high cholesterol intake at night?? The Vatican is yummy though. 🙂
Oh Wow! That is so cool about Utopia Falls winning a Canadian Writers Guild Award AND getting nominated for the Canadian Screen Awards!
The students in our arts n sciences learning community loved season one. Hopefully the boost from CWG & CSA will draw in lots of new viewers, as well. Also, what a nice treat that the beautiful, uber talented, Ayisha Issa made time in her busy schedule to appear on the DM Monday stream.
She was so wonderful and memorable as Solara. I can easily imagine her as a warrior in Powder Mage.
Update:
Spent yesterday morning hanging out at the health clinic waiting to get double injections administered
by unknown medical practitioners, whose names I can never seem to correctly pronounce,
with drugs i don’t understand anything about, and have side effects that make a double root canal
feel more like a light hearted jaunt to Disney World.
This was followed by a foodies-delight afternoon of sipping the least strongest tea i could find in the house and scarfing down a supersized bowl of cherry jello as my one and only comfort treat of the day
while submitting more CVs and employment applications online to try and land more local jobs
with more hours than I’m currently getting. Just so i can more easily afford to hang out more often
at the health clinic which I’m sure is destined to become my hot new go-to social hangout for the next month or so. But what can I say, eh? Good Times, no?
On a positive note, At least I’m still breathing
and definitely plan to keep breathing for some time to come.
Which is more than I can say for @BrentTerhune whose mother is going to kill him
when she discovers he actually publicly posted that video of her cussing on camera.

That burger does look like quite the gut-buster. I bet it was good going down, though.
Iron-flaked ice cream, for that “refreshing taste of a metal working factory”? Uh, yum? Also, too much iron is bad for you! Well, so is too much ice cream for that matter, I suppose.
Not sure I need that much iron or steel in my food, I get plenty for vitamins. I’m not feeling ice creams lately, I’ve been making ever more impressive breakfasts, been going to bed earlier, waking up way earlier and living for my mornings.
Congrats to Utopia Falls, I’m off to vote, Netflix should pair it with Shadow and Bone and Umbrella Academy, the show was so inventive and fresh.
And how did you sleep? That double cheeseburger does look delicious!, maybe not the bottlecaps, but I would like to try that. uhh, no on the extra iron, I have enough, thank you… Will head over to try and vote, have a good day.
If the steel-oats dinner is what you’ve been eating lately, you will like that burger going down but not coming out. I hope it wasn’t too bad.
I tried to vote in for Utopian Falls but you have to be Canadian and they ask you for your child’s name and age. I didn’t feel right voting for it with fake info. But you do know how much I loved the show; I signed up to get Hulu for it (and kept Hulu through the pandemic and to date; we’ll see how much longer we keep it).
