I try to maintain an open line of communication with fandom, through this blog and various other social media platforms. It’s something I’ve been doing for years now and I quite enjoy getting to know people. There are occasions, however, when I feel I have to draw the line. Specifically –
Do not direct message me to ask me to deliver a message to a cast member. Most of them maintain their own social media presence and you can reach out to them directly. If you do and they don’t get back to you, take that as a no and move on.
I don’t mind answering fan DM’s if they don’t feel comfortable putting something out in public, but if it’s simply to chat or ask questions about a show I’ve worked on, please stick to the public forums so fellow fans can be enlightened as well.
Don’t reach out to me on facebook or linkedin and expect a response within 2-3 months.
Under no circumstances am I interested in reading your Stargate ideas. I don’t own the rights to the franchise so I can’t do anything about it.
Even though I worked on a series that featured ascended beings, I”m not at all interested in reading about them. Other topics I’m not interested in reading about include: mysticism, conspiracies, the NBA, the self-help racket, pretty much any book involving magic, dragons, or a character who at some point is referred to as “the chosen one”.
Also, no one spoil the election results for me. I’m recording CNN and plan to watch this weekend.

Okay, I won’t tell you that the Presidency will go to some random mailman from Idaho. May have used the Tardis he keeps in his basement to check out the results before hand And if you think that 2020 is weird, wait until 2021 gets started. Things will really go into the Twilight Zone then… (Spoilers) But seriously, I know I’ve sneaked in some references and advertising for my SG-fanfic in here. But I’ve never seriously expected anybody here to read it. And now, to get my Space 1999 reboot going…. End shameless self-promotion.
Don’t take it too personally. People love the Stargate franchise and the expectations are so high now that they all believe they have the best ideas ever instead of professional writers. I am a bit worried that some of us will be disappointed whatever Brad Wright will make. I can only hope you will be on board too and you can make people understand how the showbusiness works.

We love your behind the scenes posts, updates on your projects, insight on food, books, and movies, learning about respected colleagues, and hearing about Akemi and your fur children through the years…just to name a few things.
I guess some people think they know you on a personal level and overstep their bounds due to your history of kindly sharing with your fans. Please don’t let a few delusional ones ruin it for everyone else. Your blog is a bright spot in my day!

The Hobbit has a dragon. It’s hard to watch the movies, I may reread my book. I have a beautiful golden leather bound edition, I’m almost afraid to open it.
It’s hard to know the difference between conspiracy and stuff most people don’t know yet. My early fandom of bitcoin (though I didn’t have money to invest and my beta wallet didn’t sync) could be considered in the realm of conspiracy. I could go by stuff most people do know to know it’s not conspiracy, but then if everyone knows it, why would I bother saying it?
