7 thoughts on “June 16, 2020: Hey, what ever happened to that coronavirus?

  1. Oh ya, the rest of the world is still reporting covid19 …
As for the USA, you gotta really look hard to find those reports hidden somewhere that DJT is probably hoping they won’t resurface before the election.

Another worrisome new outbreak in Beijiing and lockdown, suspecting a more virulent strain, still under investigation, and still happening many more outbreaks going on around the world. Few weeks from now, DJT will blame everyone else again for hiding facts and not warn him.

  2. I’m really wishing I could become a Canadian citizen. I don’t feel safe, and I feel like the US is gone.

There’s so much racism, bigotry, and sheer willful ignorance that it’s overwhelming.

  3. You forgot to add all the U.S. governors that pushed covid positive patients into nursing homes. This is just one example: https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2020/05/21/nursing-homes-residents-account-for-81-of-covid-19-deaths-in-minnesota-but-state-still-allows-facilities-to-admit-covid-19-positive-patients/

Also, add in how the CDC changed it’s story several times. Let’s not forget the contact tracers in the New York who were told not to ask about the protest: https://thefederalist.com/2020/06/15/new-york-city-instructed-contact-tracing-team-not-to-ask-about-protest-participation/ Why do tracing then?

You can point fingers at certain political groups but both sides are guilty. Take a look at the CHAZ crazies. Most of them aren’t wearing masks and are not social distancing. They don’t represent either party.

At this point, I feel politically homeless. Both sides suck. I’m going to watch cat videos now. 😉

  4. Yep, down in Texas, our governor says Covid19 is no big deal. We can do what we want and don’t have to wear a mask in public, because there are plenty of hospital beds just waiting for YOU! No matter how high that Covid19 chart spikes, Texas will continue to reopen everything.

  5. Considering that the first countries to be hit in January and Feb are now enforcing second and third quarantines under stricter controls, and we’re just “ending” our first quarantine as the virus spikes yet again we can expect to be under some sort of quarantine measures that will become more strict over time. We will very likely use an app on our phones that tracks us when we go out as they’ve done in Asia Pacific and Eastern Europe. We can look into the past for the first time and have foresight for what we can expect by looking at what’s happened to countries ahead of us in this pandemic.

Every day there is a new discovery that helps with treatment, tracking, vaccines; our docs and scientists are doing amazing work daily to treat patients. When our docs finally defeat this virus I want to travel, and I want a house with grass and a view, even it’s an awesome balcony.

  6. Things are worse than ever here in this Orlando hot zone zipcode. Most have gone back to work. Hardly anyone consistently practicing social distancing. Fewer and fewer customers wearing masks in stores. Only testing available locally now is via private lab, two hours in the early morning, Mon-Fri, self administered, in Walmart or CVS parking lots, Only when it’s not raining. (Tropical storms have been causing heavy rains here for weeks, now). Only by online appointment – but the websites are not advertised and are often not working properly. Only if you have symptoms or have a CDC listed pre-existing condition and only if Drive and have a car, because it’s drive thru only. The worst part about it is Orange County mayor refuses to widely advertise and strictly enforce a mandatory mask wearing by all in public hotspot zipcodes like mine. And the Florida DOH is no longer counting private lab tested patients in it’s total number of infected, hospitalized and fatalities.
I’m pretty sure they know it is mostly private labs doing the testing in Orlando hotspots.
I hardly leave the house anymore.

In a couple months my savings will completely run out
and I will have no choice but to risk my life just to keep a roof over my head.
Not sure what I’m gonna do.
Unless some of my more affluent friends and acquaintances
quietly want to pass the hat around to raise a quick 24k to help pay the bills till the end of the year,
to give our extra hardworking researchers the necessary time
to get effective vaccines/treatments out there, I may very well be screwed here.
It is not something I could ever ask of them, anyway.

What you can do to help:
    Start a sustained online campaign
of reminding everyone mask wearing is to protect their fellow human beings
from their potentially virus infected germs and is only effective if everyone
    consistently does it.

The life they will be saving may be mine.
