Hey, speak of the devil!
Former (and future?) Stargate television series co-creator/writer/showrunner Robert C. Cooper casts his upcoming miniseries. Joining him on Unspeakable, none other than fellow Stargate alum Michael Shanks –
Also on board for Unspeakable is former Stargate writer-Executive Producer Carl “The Truth” Binder –

Meanwhile, former SGU veteran Brian J. Smith scores yet another gig:
‘L.A. Confidential’: Brian J. Smith To Star In CBS Drama Pilot
Congratulations, all!
Who’s ready for tomorrow #DriveToRevive rehearsal tweet-storm? This is a great opportunity for first-timers to get a lay of the land while allowing veteran tweeters an opportunity to shake off the rust. We’re laying down the hammer at 9 p.m. Eastern/6 p.m. pacific.
A rulers refresher:
Otherwise feel free to bring your friends and wear whatever you like. There is no dress code!
I’ve already got my outfit picked out…
“If you could go back in time and change anything about your “Stargate” career, what would you change and why? (Bonus points for detailing your method of time travel.)” Learn my answer to this question and many more (well, nine more) here:
10 Questions with Joseph Mallozzi
Now, I have a question for fandom: You’re about to blast off on an intergalactic mission and are permitted to bring along 5 episodes from the entire Stargate franchise to kill time between here and BoRG-58. Which 5 episodes are you choosing and why?
Finally, one of the questions I’m most often asked by Stargate fans is: “What is the message hidden in the cosmic microwave background radiation? What was the universe trying to tell us?” Well, okay. Here it is, but don’t tell Brad I told you…

Less than 24 hrs before the rehearsal!! I’m getting excited!
5 desert island Stargate episodes:
1. Stargate (the movie) – Where it all started. I watch it several times a year.
2. SG-1: Children Of The Gods – Where the TV series started. I always watch this after watching the movie.
3. SG-1: Window Of Opportunity – Everyone’s favourite episode.
4. Stargate: Continuum – Time travel, alternate realities and the end of the Goa’uld arc.
5. Atlantis: Rising – I love the sense of wonder felt by everyone as they explore Atlantis.
OMG only 5?? This will take some time to narrow it down. I may be ready by tweetstorm tomorrow night.
I actually drank sme Ovaltine tonight!! What a coincidence. Perhaps I’m living “Window of Opportunity”?
I wish my O worked properly on my keyboard!
So excited to see “Unspeakable” when it airs (hopefully in the UK in it’s own right too) and am thrilled for Carl and Robert (of whom I had NO idea how he had been affected by such a horrible medical situation and illness resulting from it) but especially for Michael who has consistently proved his amazing acting ability since his outstanding portrayal of Dr Daniel Jackson in Stargate, which of course first drew me to become a supportive fangirl of his for so many years. And he’s always been so generous with his support of and love for the Stargate Franchise and it’s family even whilst diligently applying his talents to all the other genres and programmes/series he’s been involved in.
Cannot wait for all the exciting times ahead for him, Carl & Rob, Stargate, us fans and everyone involved in all the “happenings” right now…it’s a great time to be a fan again and I haven’t felt this excited for a long time.
Wasn’t the answer supposed to be “42”?
Top 5 Desert Island Stargate Episodes:
1. Abyss
2. Window of Opportunity
3. Beneath the Surface
4. Urgo
5. Heroes (not my fault if someone put a page break in the middle of the episode)
I’ts my fervent hope that in the reboot pilot we will finally learn that Jack and Sam have been blissfully together for the past 14 years. Pretty, pretty, pretty please with sugar, whipped cream, and a whole passel of cherries on top!!!!
After a quick scroll through imdb I found these where the episodes I would like to bring on my trip:
SGA – rising
SG-1 – Window of opportunity
SG-1 – Prometheus Unbound
SG-1 – Lost City (1&2)
SGA – Enemy at the gate
Ok, I sneaked a 2-parter in there, hope it is ok with you joe 🙂
I actually started with Atlantis, and that’s the series I’ve seen from start to finish the most, so I know I’m missing plenty of SG-1 episodes, but these are the 5 that I always think of first….
1. Atlantis – Brain Storm
2. SG-1 – The Other Guys
3. SG-1 – Window of Opportunity (of course)
4. Atlantis – The Shrine
5. Atlantis – Inferno

“It seems as though there’s a disconnect between what fans want and what executives think fans want.”
You bet!!! So true
