September 25, 2015: Foodly Developments!
Daisy, Akemi, and sis having a grand ole time.

My sis and Daisy are in town for the week and, of course, whenever we get together, it’s all about the food.

September 25, 2015: Foodly Developments!

Like this kouign-amman they brought me from Montreal’s Patisserie au Kouign Amann.

Or mom’s Russian teacakes (aka Mexican wedding cookies).

September 25, 2015: Foodly Developments!

Or mom’s home made biscotti, perfect for Akemi who is a huge fan of dry crumbly stuff.

And, while out and about today, sis and Daisy brought back some donuts from Cartem’s Donuterie.  From left to right: London Fog, Lemon Meringue, and Coconut Cream Pie!

Tonight, we’re off for hand-cut noodles and beef rolls at Peaceful Restaurant!

Oh, and this –

I will NOT be sleeping tonight!

  1. How are you guys not like 300 pounds? Each? All your food pix look amazing (some a bit scary looking, and some I’m still not sure isn’t still alive).

  2. Hi Andria and Daisy! Awwww, they brought you homemade food from home. How sweet. Everything looks so good!

  3. Joe I know you’re not big on fast food but next time you’re in L.A. you have to try Tommy’s original chilli cheese burgers they are the absolute best you’ll ever have and also try their chilli cheese fry’s. There’s one on Hollywood Blvd right off the 101 just up from the walk of fame.

  4. That reminds me – I made gluten-free Russian Teacakes/Mexican Wedding Cookies…and they were delicious! But I have no idea what I did with the recipe… 😛

Good to see Andria and Daisy! *waves*

BTW, when you’re with your sister, do you call her ‘sis’, or ‘Andria’? Because on the blog you usually refer to her as ‘sis’, which makes me think that’s your nickname for her. Kinda like my nickname for you is Joey. 🙂

    das

  5. Ugh! The biggest thing I miss about working at 7Seas was being just down the street from Peaceful Restaurant in Kits. I miss those beef rolls!

  6. That food looks wonderful! Those cookies are like crack, right? We call them Mexican wedding cookies here.

Everyone looks so happy. Great picture!

  7. OMG, the beef rolls at the Peaceful Restaurant. Those were amazing, and we need to go there again next time I’m out! I need to check out that donut place, too. It will have a hard time competing with the cream puffs from Beta5, though.

Everything else looks delicious, of course. Say hi to Daisy and Sis for me!

  8. Kouign amann is so good. It’s not easy to find good ones outside of Bretagne even in France . It’s great that you can find some in Montreal. Enjoy!
    Have a nice weekend.

  9. The most beautiful food. And a great pic of the ladies! Glad you guys are getting to visit, the pastries look so good.
