Last night, I watched Andy Mikita’s director’s cut of episode #113, the big season finale. All I can say is: Whoa! I envy all of you who’ll be coming into the show fresh when it premieres on June 12th. Believe me, you’re in for such a treat. We’re not just going to surpass expectations, we’re going to blow them away by delivering a scifi series you’re going to LOVE: character-driven, ship-based science fiction full of action, adventure, shocks, surprises, dazzling visual effects, and, above all else, a sense of fun.
I want to get the word out early and often. I don’t want to wait until AFTER we air to start bringing fans on board or rewarding them for their viewership. I want to get things started early by making you all part of the Dark Matter family BEFORE we air. All of these sneak peeks, photos, interviews, trailers, and endless blog posts are here (and there) because I want you all to feel that this is as much your show as it is ours. Take ownership in it. The Dark Matter army is strong and getting stronger!
Executive Producer Jay Firestone already has some awesome amazing giveaways planned to coincide with the show’s launch – among them, limited edition 3D models of our various ships. When the time comes, I’ll be offering up special signed, annotated scripts like the ones I did for Stargate – with hand-written notes and insights on every page. Official Dark Matter merchandise is on the way but, while we wait, I’ll be giving offering up some of those custom t-shirts pictured in yesterday’s blog entry. And just wait until we hit San Diego Comic Con…

Wow only 15 days until the unveiling of the show.On one hand it seems like I just started hearing about this show and on the other hand, it has taken forever to finally see the finished product. So great how you have brought us all along on the journey. So thanks for that!
BTW I have told everyone I know about the show. As I just mentioned on Twitter, I think some are fearing for my sanity!
I’ve been an avid email reader to your blog for a few years now and as the build up for Dark Matter has got more exciting I find myself looking for your blog email before anything else. I have been spreading the word about Dark Matter amongst my fellow Gater’s and we’re arranging a viewing party for opening night here in the UK, I hope other fans are doing the same!! Anyhow I just wanted to congratulate you and your team on what I’m sure will be an amazing series, here’s to season 5 and the sci-fi channel begging for more!!!

I’ve been beating the DM drum with people for several months now – shouting “don’t forget to watch Dark Matter” to the back yard squirrels is about the only thing left. And I may or may not have done that already.
The only thing that may discourage people here from watching it “live” is that it’s on at 11pm Atlantic time. Of course I’m telling them if they can’t watch it on original airing to make sure they watch it from other official sources!
June is going to be such a KICK ASS month for TV. My DVR is going to explode. Seriously.

Two weeks away!!! I got 2 weeks to buy a bottle of Whiskey so I can have a shot either when the show comes on or when it is over. Maybe both… 😀 I don’t drink so this could be interesting…

Please please please tell me are coming to New York Comic Con?? Please pretty please? And that you will be there Sunday? We tried so hard for Saturday tickets, just missed out. My friend & her boyfriend got ahead of me in the queue by only a few minutes, and they got Saturday and I didn’t. So bummed. I really hope DM is coming to NYCC!!!
@ PBMom – Hope you are doing okay down there in south Texas. It has been raining at my house in Dallas/Fort Worth area since mid April. I’m dodging lightning bolts, high wind and heavy rain, tornado threat every single night! I now need a new roof and fence that is hard to fix because it won’t stop raining! And another storm is coming in right now. North Texas has been in a drought for about the last 4-5 years. All lakes were drastically down, some as much as 25 feet. After 2 months of continuous storms, all the lakes are full again and overflowing. Some lakes are now 25 feet over! A lot of drowning people too. I think 19 so far. Tragic stories.

There’s a fellow here right now doing some reno work on the house (replacing doors upstairs, as requested by the buyer.) Turns out he’s somewhat of a Stargate fan, so of course I was pushing Dark Matter again! Sounds like he’s going to give it a try. Another one down! 🙂
I’d love to see some shirts that just had some of the main logo artwork on them, too. Like a Shaofu 2, Vega V, or a Galactic Authority shirt, that kind of thing. You could do it where it’s just the main logo on the front, or do the small logo on the left chest and a huge one on the back. I’m sure people would be happy with either. They’d be simple, but effective references to the show.
Perhaps a shirt with the main label from the whisky/ey bottle from the Ponytail Distillery? 😉
