One of the nice things about returning home after a long trip is playing catch-up with all of the shows you’ve missed. Last night, Fondy and I (and the pugs, all sprawled on top of us and each other) watched Survivor, The Amazing Race, and a double dose of Nip/Tuck. Tonight, it’ll be Boston Legal and a House double-header. As I sat there, watching, I couldn’t help but consider some of the words I’d love to hear spoken on a few of my favorite shows…

THE AMAZING RACE

Phil: “Charla and Mirna you are…team number one!”
(beat)
Phil: “I’m sorry to tell you you have been eliminated from the race.”

HOUSE

House: “Well, whaddya know. Foreman was right. It IS lupus.

BOSTON LEGAL

Justice of the Peace: “Alan and Denny, by the power invested in me by the state of Massachusetts I pronounce you husband and husband.”

SURVIVOR

Jeff: “Today’s challenge will be a fight to the death. Winner gets immunity. Loser goes home…in a body bag.”

NIP/TUCK

Nurse: “Hey, Dr. McNamara, did anyone ever tell you your son looks like a white Michael Jackson?”

FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS

Smash: “Aah, I didn’t want to play running back anyway. My real passion is dance.”

GREY’S ANATOMY

Dr. Webber: “Gosh, I can’t even remember the last time we lost a patient.”

OR

Dr. Montgomery: “Good news, Mr. Tuttle. Your wife is pregnant.”
Mr. Tuttle: “She’s my daughter.”
Dr. Montgomery: “Bad news, Mr. Tuttle…”

Well, I underestimated the Save Carson Beckett organizers yet again. I completed the Q&A with them last night, assuming they’d need a day or two to get the interview up. Nope. An hour later, the news was all over the net. That was fast!

Today’s pics: blueberry pie a la mode, Travelers director Will Waring rushing to set, looking dashingly Mal Reynolds, Wil and DOP Jim Menard testing the force field on their cell.

Q&A –

Anonymous #1 writes: “Did you get a chance to dine at 40 west during your stay at montreal?”

Answer: I didn’t. But I did dine there many years ago when I was still living on the West Island.

Peter writes: “I think it’s spelled The Reaping, not The Reapening.”

Answer: You’re right. I kept imagining that Simpson’s drive-in horror flick “The Bloodening”. That I’d pay to see.

Lughtigern writes: “Have you ever found yourself with similar regrets/realizations or do production schedules allow you the opportunity for fine tuning a script on set?”

Answer: Life is full of regrets – especially if you work in television.

Smiley Face06 writes: “On my own blog, I get 3 comments and think, “Woo hoo!”

Answer: You’d probably get more if the link to your blogger profile didn’t end up in a “Profile Not Available” dead-end.

Hitman Jr. writes: “Will we ever get to see a restroom on Atlantis?”

Answer: Carl Binder is working on the “big restroom” episode as I write this.

Kate writes: “ Of how many pages does an average SGA script consist?”

Answer: SGA scripts are averaging just a shade under 60 pages.

Copernicus writes: “What can you suggest (as in my current situation where I write non-professionally/academically) when there are no deadlines to work to? How does one interject the necessary fear to inspire one to write?!”

Answer: Try writing on the edge of a cliff.

Wolfen writes: “I have Utena’s soundtrack too, though I still haven’t seen the last two DVDs. Have you seen The Adolecense of Utena?”

Answer: Loved Utena. Great soundtrack. I need me rapier.

Anonymous #2 writes: “ Now that Paul has been contracted for two episodes in the back half of season 4 is there any chance to have a count on how many episodes Torri has been contracted for?”

Answer: So far, she has been contracted for four episodes.

Anjirikia writes: “Just a question Joe- you’ve brought Carson back for two episodes, but you must have had plans for this for a while now because spinning stories and contracts do not appear over night…….what can you say to this?”

Answer: I can say that a lot of different elements went into the decision to bring the Carson character back, everything from the initial seed of his return, the stories it spawned, proper timing, Paul’s availability and his willingness to come back, the support of the studio and the network, and, of course, the support of Paul’s many fans.

Anonymous #3 writes: “Have you seen the movie “Children of Men”?”

Answer: Have not seen it yet. I plan to read the book first so that I can complain about the movie later.

Scottish Pirate: “ You are awesome!”

Answer: I alright awesome I guess.

SMB Books writes: “Since it appears you are man who enjoys a good meal….do you watch Food TV and if so, who’s your favorite chef and why?”

Answer: I do watch a lot of Food TV. My favorite chef: Anthony Bourdain for his fearless eating habits and wicked sense of humor.

  1. Anthony Bourdain is one of my favorites as well. Have you read his book?
Kitchen Confidential: Adventures in the Culinary Underbelly

  2. Wow the Travelers set looks fantastic. But it has to be said that it looks a bit dirty…oh dirty Sheppard, 😉 That’s what I like about you Joe, always thinking of the girls. 😉 I like where you’re going with this. So is this a generational ship then? (is that actually a word?)

Never mind, on to more important things. Let’s talk dirt 😀 Being held captive on a dirty ship will obviously make Sheppard a bit nervous and ergo hot and sweaty especially if there’s the added problem of Sheppard being restrained. And if poor Sheppard is stuck on there for a length of time before his rescue, the grime will just stick to him like glue. So given this, I definately feel as if a shower scene in Travelers is crucial to the plot.

    Thanking you kindly

  3. Of course YOU KNOW someone is going to ask this – You said “So far, she [Torri] has been contracted for four episodes.”

Are these 4 contracted appearances in
    1) the first 10 episodes,
    2) the last 10 episodes, or
    3) in both front and back half of season 4?

Please choose one option only 🙂
    Danke.

  4. I said, “On my own blog, I get 3 comments and think, “Woo hoo!”

You said: “You’d probably get more if the link to your blogger profile didn’t end up in a “Profile Not Available” dead-end.”

Excellent point. However, I was referring to another site that I blog on.

Thank you for taking the time to click on my user name though!

Unrelated questions: If you could have any super-human ability, what would you want? If you decided to ceome a super-hero/villan, what would your name be? Cape or no cape?

  5. Oh, the things we’d all love to hear on our favorite shows! LOL

Anyhow, after about 6 and a half hours, I can re-read the news about Carson without letting out some ecstatic verbal exclamation. (Though, I still can’t help but grin in a way that puts the Cheshire Cat to shame.) I wanted to let you know that in my book, your status went from “cool” to “most definitely awesomely cool.” Thank you–now, I definitely can’t wait for season four!

Please be sure to express the gratitude of us fans to the other writers and the rest of TPTB as well.

  6. Oh I can’t wait for that big restroom episode; it’s something that fans have been demanding since day 1 I’m sure. That, or the shoe shopping episode.

So Joe, have time to repost that spoiler poem yet?

  7. Hey Joe,
Thank you so much for the good news about the return of Carson Beckett. As a fan of tv show, I have learned to trust the powers that be when it comes to the stories that are brought out. And don’t get me wrong, I loved Sunday! I sent Martin Gero a nice thank you note and job well done comment. But do you think that you can, when the episode air kind leave bread crumbs on where to look for the subtile hints are, so that we/I can look for them. I have seen the back half already and did not really catch what you were looking for.
Thanks again for all that you do and keep up the great work.

    BN

  8. What is the best thing about writing two parters and cliffhanger?
Could you ask JOE FLANIGAN to write something at his blog.
Whats was you favourite guest star in the back half on season 3.
What is the final epsiode for the first half of season 4 because there are only 9 currently displayed on gateworld.net

  9. Joe – Thanks for sharing the news about Carson coming back. Kudos to you for helping make that happen!

  10. The ice cream on that pie looks like a persons head, with an extremely large growth on its forehead.

  11. You. Are. Frickin’. Awesome!!! ;D
You do realize that because of your aforementioned awesomeness, you now have an entire Scot-loving army at your beck and call? Dial-a-Minion, what? XD

So get ready for next season when Sheppard moves in with a Wraith Queen and then both must keep her fiercely religious parents from finding out. Hilarity ensues.
I seem to perceive a pattern in your witty remarks. You know we’ll all be expecting a Wormhole X-treme-esque episode out of you after all of these remarks >D

  12. Gee. I remember a bunch of people telling you they’d heard Torri was going to be in four episodes, and you ridiculed them. Looks like they were right all along. Their sources must be good.

If you’ve revealed it now because you think it looks good compared with Beckett, think again.

Since you said “so far”, I presume that you mean the first half of the season. Have you looked at the second half yet?

The postcard campaign continues, by the way.

  13. hi, joe,

any chance for some sam/jack ship on atlantis?

btw, when i asked you if you’d ever visited ‘knotts berry farm’; i started doing some research and discovered some very interesting history about the park. if you’re interested:

    http://www.knotts.com/coinfo/history/index.shtml#top

i have some *very* wonderful memories of visiting this park as a child… 🙂

    k, so about this sam/jack thang…

    sally 🙂

  14. Hi Joe

Yup – TV catch-up sessions are a great way to wind down after a trip.

Is it me or does the blueberry pie a la mode in Today’s pics look like a face. Well I certainly see chin, mouth nose … or maybe it’s just one of those 3:52am moments I’m having. (Damn insomnia …)

Oh yes – and it’s nice to hear that CB will be in the mix in season 4. You could have spun the tension out for a bit longer though … Ha!

So 2+2 and the actor you are persuing for the show was a recurring character on Lost?
    AMx

  15. Hi Joe! Can you please tell us how the timeline will go? Will Carter’s promotion come before the SG1 movies? I don’t want to watch it out of order, but would like to see Sam be in charge. How come everyone, both you and the characters on the show, all act like she was never in command of SG1? The citizen Joe said she was, and he gets all he knows from Jack’s reports. Why was she demoted in season nine? Maybe Cam is a full colonel?

  16. Answer: SGA scripts are averaging just a shade under 60 pages.

If scripts in normal television usually run about a page/min, and if SGA eps are 40-odd minutes long, do the extra pages all end up crammed into McKay’s dialogue? Hewlett does tend to speak, um, insanely fast.

  17. Silly question time! In the mid season 3 Atlantis cliffhanger, there was that awesome World of Warcraft based scene. I was wondering who on the staff plays and who thought of adding WoW into that episode.

    Thanks!

  18. When Beckett comes back, how will he only be here for two episodes? Do you plan to bring him back for good after a while like Danny Jackson?

  19. So, since you’ve given us some hints about Carson’s reappearance, here’s my guess: Something to do with Michael’s genetic experiments and the fact that Atlantis keeps DNA samples of all expedition members on file? No, I’m not actually expecting an answer to that.

    Denny/Alan, eh? So, you’re a slasher. Interesting.

House: “Well, whaddya know. Foreman was right. It IS lupus.

LOL! Indeed. One of these days, it’s got to actually be lupus.

On that note, House is starting. (And how much did I love last week’s episode? The whole fetus grabbing his finger thing…so great.)

  20. Zabadoo said…
When Beckett comes back, how will he only be here for two episodes? …

Hey Zabadoo – maybe it’s the last 2 episodes of the season – just a thought …

    AMx

  21. That set looks niiice joe.
Can’t wait for the big restroom episode. The only thing that could beat that is the kitchen episode – we never did find out what shipment of potatoes O’Neill Got in season 8. The suspense of getting fried, baked, or mashed potatoes has been killing me for 3 years!
On another note, I think Anthony Bourdain is alright, but I’m more of an Alton Brown fan myself. I know this is a random question, but what do you think a good name for a blog title should be?

  22. What I want to hear

    House: “Cuddy, I love you”

Yes I know, it will never happen. I can dream.

  23. Joe,

Since you guys get the ratings way before we will, is there any chance you could let us know on your blog what the ratings are for SG-1 and Atlantis when they air in the next few weeks?

    MS

  24. You know those words you’d like to hear spoken on Boston Legal? It just begs this answer: There are many people who would have liked to hear those words spoken on SG-1…. and many who would love to have the outtakes from the scene that mirrors that on a DVD…

  25. Hey Joe,

A few people were kind enough to provide information on how copyright liability is evaded in the case of writers, but I do have a follow-up.

About a month ago, I jokingly posted a scenario on your blog which played out a request by another poster for Felger, McKay and Carter in the same room together. It passed screening, which means that you have to have looked it over. If anything you write involving Carter and McKay banter resembles my dialogue, (possibly with a different third character), can I sue you guys for ridiculously large sums of money?

  26. Smiley_face06 said: Unrelated questions: If you could have any super-human ability, what would you want? If you decided to ceome a super-hero/villan, what would your name be? Cape or no cape?

I think Joe would want to be Ba’al. I could see him as a super villain. Personally, as a professional, I believe that Ba’al is Joe’s alter-ego.

Jacques Plante, a very successful Montreal Canadien’s Goal tender once said: “Goaltending is a normal job. Sure! How would you like it in your job if every time you made a small mistake, a red light went on over your desk and 16,000 people stood up and yelled at you.”

Gee Joe, you and Jacques Plante have more in common than I realized.

    Have a great day.

    Patricia

  27. Did you ever tried vegetarian food? Two days ago, I ate chinese rice with chicken and it was great. I’m a fan of healthy food, which isn’t that bad. You got more recipes in it.

  28. is there any chance that you could have a technology episode like for example a scenario where McKay and Carter design or checkout a new space craft kind of like season six with the Prometheus episode?
Is there any chance of seeing a new earth space ship in general.

  29. If you’re an anime fan you should watch Death Note! It’s worth it!!

Aslo: Joe Flanigan has a blog?? What’s its adress??

  30. Thank you so much for answering my question. I have an even greater appreciation for the writers knowing how much they create for the show. It would be a delight to have such imagination!

  31. No no no no no, Joe. It’s never Lupus! 🙂 Anyway, neoplastic syndrome is the new lupus.. you really must keep up with fashion! 😉

  32. amarati said…

Is that the first pic? When I saw that, I immediately thought it was some sort of misshapen face, like a face mold that partially melted or something. It’s kinda creepy.

  33. Hi Joe,

Just me again, in my excitement at the thought of possibly seeing Shep all dirty, I completely forgot to notice the cell. But worse than that I didn’t even see the bed the first time inside the cell. I know, I call myself a fan and didn’t even notice that most important detail *hangs head in shame*. I just wanted to say thank you to you again once more. I can see you’ve taken note of my previous post and given the ‘semi nekid Shep, lying in bed’ suggestion a lot of thought and made it a reality (well as far as the bed goes):D For now 😉 So now not only do we have the gift to the whumpers in this episode, but also the possibility of a bed scene. This wonderful kind gesture will not be forgotten.

    Thankyou 😀 😀 😀 😀

  34. I was just wondering, do you watch NCIS? I fully recommend it if you don’t.

By the time Stargate Atlantis ends, be it 1 year, or 10, will Atlantis have 3 ZPMs?

    Thanks.

  35. 4 eps for Elizabeth? How many times have we heard that before? Not from you, of course, but from people who claim to know from other sources inside.

Is that in the front half of the season? Are you considering using her in the second half?

Please give her (and her fans)a fair go. Torri and Lizzie are so popular.

She had a massive response at the Vancouver convention, as she does at every one she attends. It would be so much smarter to have her and Amanda, and to show the interaction between these two characters than to offload her because you’ve got a new female leader.

  36. I heard the squeeing from Scotland. Cheers for bringing the good doctor back.

  37. Joe, you ol’ softy. Here you go being nice to everyone and admitting you’re bringing Carson back for a couple of episodes. Then you tell people that Torri has at least four episodes?

Yup. Gettin’ soft there. You usually enjoy tormenting longer than that.

  38. Since you appear to Love food (as do i!) have you ever seen the dodgy 80’s TV chef (he was on BBC so you may not have) Floyd? he was great- he’d open a bottle of wine at the start of the show and be drunk as a skunk by the end!

  39. According to wikipedia (the world’s font of information and rumors), the ninth episode of Season 4 is titled “Miller’s Crossing.” Is this a reference to McKay’s siter? Are they taking another stab at zero point energy?

  40. Hiya Joe,

Another question on the Asurans. Will we see some Asuran warships this next season? Also, I know you said we will get some revelations on them this season but will that include perhaps anything on who was the one responsible for actually making them?

    Thanks Joe!

  41. Yeah, they do a great work on savecarson.com, don’t they? 😉 I don’t unerstand why you thouhgt they’d need one or two days to bring such a news out…I mean: It’s PAUL MCGILLION!!

I’d love to hear House saying “Well, whaddya know. Foreman was right. It IS lupus.”
    …but that’ll never happen I suppose…
However, there are certain words I’d like to hear spoken on Stargate:

    SG-1

Jack: “So, don’t let’s argue about the last years, c’mon Daniel, Sam, Teal’c! Let’s save the planet”

Sam: “Sweetie, you’re right! Let’s kick ass!”

    Atlantis:

McKay: “Welcome back Carson. I always knew that that was just a bloody April Fool!”

  42. GeekBoy finished Mr. Thundermug yesterday and really liked it. “Quirky” was the word he used to describe it. Now he’s halfway through The Old Man’s War and pronounces it “awesome!” My husband picked it up and started reading it last night and was laughing out loud. Thanks for all the book suggestions!

  43. Where do you find the time to do all of this. Between watching the movies/TV shows you watch, reading books, going out and writing reviews on restaurants every night, and of course writing for Stargate?

  44. Hi Joe!

Have to say that since reading your blog, I have now been a bit more adventurous as to my food eating habits and have progressed from fish and chips to crispy, aromatic duck today!! It was crispy and..um..aromatic!!

Have to agree with others and say the new Dr Who series has been fab so far! What sort of story would you like to write for the show? The CyberWraith might be fun! 🙂

I also have to agree with ‘cheeky lil devil’…a Shep shower scene would be most acceptable…as would Shirtless Shep, Surfin’ Shep, Skateboarding Shep, Sunbathing Shep and…er…for the whumpers…shot/stabbed/scorched Shep!! Heh! Today’s letter is the letter ‘s’! 😉

So, which one of those are we most likely to see in s4 please?

    Thanks a bunch!

    Elinor

  45. In regards to “Children of Men”, for once I recommend you see the film prior to reading the book. Alfonso Cuarón chose to make some rather sweeping changes as the book is quite religious and Alfonso wanted a more political view, with hints of spirituality. The rumor mill says Alfonso never read the complete novel, but chose to use its ideas as an outline for his own script. Seeing the film first will keep you from screaming, “That wasn’t in the book!” and you’ll enjoy it much more. Its excellent.

  46. So finally, “the Shrill and ill informed lemmings” were right and Weir only appears in 4 episodes (so far, of course). Surprise, surprise… In Sheppard’s words, “I never see that coming”…

  47. Although not like the news about Torri, thanks for clarify her real status, Mr. Mallozzi. If you had done this from the beginning, you had avoided all Atlantis fandom wank (just a think)…

  48. As a grad student in molecular biology/genetics, thanks for bringing Carson back. I predict an avalanche of ‘thank you’ chocolates headed your way.

  49. Hahahahahahahaha. I wish they would say that on Boston Legal as well. And had a good giggle over the others as well.

Also, I must say – how do you read all the scathing comments criticising you and YOUR work? I see the first sentence of “OMG YOU ARE SO RUDE AND WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS TO TORRI/YOU ARE RUINING EVERYTHING” etc and have to scroll past.

Anyway, I think you’re doing an awesome job, and if you guys up there think season 4 will be great, regardless of cast change, I absolutely believe it will! 🙂

  50. Ooooh……Joe Flanigan has a blog? What’s the linky?

Oh my……Shep being held captive….dirty, sweaty….be still my heart! Can you make him bloody too? We Shep Whumpers thank you in advance. Now if there was only a way for him to show off his nice chest (ala “38 Min”). Or how about the shower scene as cheeky lil devil mentioned?

Thanks Joe…..your blog is one of the first things I read every day.

You may be kidding but for those of us old enough to remember watching the first run of Babylon 5 that was a big worry of J. Michael Straczynski (JMS) who created, wrote most of the episodes and was one of the executive producers of Babylon 5.

JMS was active on the internet newsgroups at that time (1993) but told his fans he might have to quit for just such a reason as you suggest.

The fans then set up a moderated newsgroup (rec.arts.sf.tv.babylon5.moderated) with a dedicated group of volunteers that screen every post for “story ideas”. It has worked well and the newsgroup still exits with JMS stopping by with the latest news on the B5 world and other areas that he is working on.

    So everyone be careful.

Remember, the Atlantis lawyers are always watching.

  52. Hi Joe

    Have you seen this?

Do your pugs have a similar problem??

Thought it might make you smile!

  53. Um… anonymous, what the hell:

“Oh my……Shep being held captive….dirty, sweaty….be still my heart! Can you make him bloody too? “

You like your poor hero bloody? And they call us shippers weirdos.

Give me a nice Shep/Liz scene any day over poor Shep covered in blood and bruises. He’s way to pretty for that.

  54. Anonymous said about Anonymous said… 😉 (This could get confusing)

What’s wrong with bloody? Remember whump isn’t cruel, it’s character development. 😀 This is scifi! You know, action/adventure, alien’s, bugs..blowing things up…saving the planet… it’s not the Love boat or a Jane Austin series.

  55. Are you (Cooper, Wright, Mullie, yourself) surprised by the negative reaction to the changes in Atlantis main cast? David Hewlett seemed genuinely shocked in the past Convention. For de record, I am also a bit shocked. Until Weir’s fiasco, Always I had thought that Atlantis fandom were all Sheppard and McKay fans, and that the others characters had a little fan support.

  57. Hey Joe!
Glad to hear that Torri’s been contracted for 4 episodes. Is there any chance of seeing her in more?

  58. Hi Joe,

As an actress who does not write I find the whole writing process fascinating so a couple of questions, sir.

When you are writing an episode do you start with an outline? Do you start with the first scene and go through the script in a linear fashion or do you go back and forth through scenes?

I’ll stop there for this round. Thanks in advance for your answers.

    Where is Joe Flanigan’s blog?

I believe one was set up for him on Gateworld a year or more ago along with one for Amanda Tapping, as they had both expressed an interest in possibly having a blog. However, it was “possibly” and as it turns out, neither of them have had the time to devote to it so neither of the blogs have really been used.

That’s my understanding anyway. So there’s nothing exciting that you were missing out on…

  60. Did you know that Naquadah is a town in Egypt? It’s about 500 km south of Cairo.

No, I think they probably call you extremely rude and intolerant. Each to his/her own.

  63. I just read the interview. Then I read it again. I still can’t comprehend it. Could you put it in more incomplex terms?

    Oh, and Anonymous said…
“[…]I would like to see Sam be in charge. How come everyone, both you and the characters on the show, all act like she was never in command of SG1? […] Why was she demoted in season nine? Maybe Cam is a full colonel?”

Somebody hasn’t been paying attention… he says in one episode that he doesn’t control anyone on his team because Daniel’s a civilian, Teal’c’s an alien, and Carter is of equal rank (Vala wasn’t on the team at that point). Cam’s basically the military leader and Sam’s the scientist. However, I understand why you’re confused. He never makes any big decisions without consulting the team first, so you never see the conflict that would totally explain the chain of command.

  64. Joe,

You’ve really been vague about Teyla’s role in season 4, other than saying she’ll have a season-long arc.

Please tell me we’ll see more of her and learn more about her than we did in season 3?

Also, you said that Dr. Weir’s character will be a player in a major arc, but can you say the same for Sheppard, or will he just be there? WIll he play major role in this season-long arc?

    Thanks in advance.

  65. Hi Joe,

Which out of the following eps would you say is more Sheppard centric – Doppleganger or Travellers, or are both pretty Shep centric. I have heard that there will be different arcs throughout the season. Will Sheppard be the focus of any of these arcs?. You have promised some Shep whump – which I am assuming is physcial – can we expect any emotional whump or team angst. Any nice moments like the John/Teyla scene in Sateda where we see another side of Sheppard.

    Thanks a lot.

  66. Spoilers

Joe, is the ancient ship in Travelers an Aurora class? or a new class?

    Thanks:)

  67. Regarding Beckett’s return – your not going to pull a Dallas on us are you?

Someones not going to wake up and find him in the shower and the past season was all a dream are they? 😉

  68. Hi Joe,

  69. Ah, people, don’t have to get rude. How about a shippy scene where both Sheppard and Elizabeth are bloody/hurt. This way there is angst, whump, and ship 🙂

Thanks for finally telling us how many episodes Torri will be in. Not that we didn’t know that, but it’s nice not to speculate anymore. Hopefully you guys will get her more more.

  70. quote — ” How come everyone, both you and the characters on the show, all act like she was never in command of SG1?”

Joe – this is a good question — how come everyone involved in Stargate (except Amanda Tapping) blatantly ignores this fact? It is the proverbial elephant in the room because none of the explainations in real life interviews, articles, blogs, etc., or in the show make any sense or are even plausible in the context of the show’s history and canon especially since Mitchell had zero experience with the Stargate.
In fact he had never even seen it before (personally I thought the shot of him “petting” the Gate looking like he was about to cry over it was a bit much when he saw the thing for the very first time) next thing you know he’s co-lead of the most experienced team at the SGC – yeah makes all kinds of sense.

Carter got screwed over and everyone, except Amanda Tapping, ignores the elephant in the room. What? are you all hoping that one of the biggest blunders in the history of Staragte SG-1 will miraculously go away or that the fans will conveniently “forget”??

I hope you can do better for Carter in SGA – it would be kinda hard to do worse when you have nowhere to go but up from that co-lead with a complete newbie debacle.
